Horse Bio
Lilys Brogan, or Teddy as we lovingly call him, is a 2019 AQHA Palomino gelding. This phenomenal horse is truly the complete package. He has the looks, the personality and the ability to be anyones once in a life time horse. He really is a member of the family, from roping with dad to babysitting the 6 year old first time riders, he’s happy and willing to do it all. He has grown with our kids and been around all their antics including motorcycles, 4 wheelers, RC Cars, go-carts, tractors, dogs and just general chaos! You don’t come across horses very often that just LOVE their people and are willing to do anything they ask, but Teddy checks that box. He has a very pleasing, agreeable personality that will take him far in this world.
He is wonderful on the trail. It doesn’t matter if he is in the lead, the back, or by himself, he’s content. He will cross water and deadfall with no problem. He has been ridden on the road too, and traffic and other neighborhood action doesn’t bother him. We’ve done a little of everything on this guy, including obstacle clinics and gathering cattle.
In the arena, Teddy is turning into an exceptional heel and breakaway horse. His smarts and willing attitude have really lended themselves to making him an extremely talented rope horse. He’s quiet and calm in the box and just understands what’s expected of him naturally. He has a nice easy way about him whether you’re loping a circle of heeling a steer, he’s soft and in your hand.
He has been ridden by all levels of riders, and is completely beginner and kid safe, and we don’t make that claim on very many horses. He has been handled by our 6 and 8 year old’s a lot. They can easily catch, load and unload him in the trailer and he is always aware and respectful of where they are. He is great to shoe, we keep him shod in the summer when we are riding in the mountains and down the road, we keep him barefoot in the winter because we ride only in the indoor arena. He’s always been sound and healthy.
All in all we can’t say enough good things about Teddy, he’s been a joy to own and train. We are confident that he will bless any family like he has blessed ours.
