Horse Bio
Good Timen Man aka Houston is a 2012 gelding. He is an own son of Zippos Mr Good Bar. His breeding is AQHA royalty, with so many of the “greats” on his papers, including AQHA World Champions, AQHA Congress Champions and many AQHA Hall of Fame Stallions. If he were a mare he wouldn’t be for sale. Had he been a roan he would have been left a stud. His papers backup the ability and great mindset of his breeding. This guy can do anything. We (my family) have owned him for 8 years and have shown him winning buckles and money. We have trail ridden him in the mountains and we do have mountains in our part of Wyoming. He has won extreme cowboy trail challenges with tough obstacles and even tougher competition. He has never refused an obstacle, just goes where he is pointed. We bought him as a green broke 3 year old and in the 8 years we’ve owned him he has never offered to buck or even think about it, and we have asked a lot of him and put him in some pretty sticky situations. Put him away for the winter, and our winters are long, saddle him up the next spring and take off without a problem. He is a stout 15 hands and weighing in at a soggy 1250 pounds. He has good black feet and stands great for the farrier. He is up to date on his vaccinations and deworming. I can’t say enough good things about Houston, he should be someone’s #1 and is only for sale because our business focuses more on building solid horses and sending them off to others to enjoy. We have too many young ones to start and he’s not getting used like he should. He is in the middle of the pecking order and pastures well with other horses. He has the sweetest personality and loves people, will meet you at the gate and follow you anywhere for a peppermint. Literally runs across the pasture at the sound of the plastic wrapper. If you are thinking about Houston for your child, I would say that depends on your child. He doesn’t have a mean bone in his body but is not a deadhead either. If you want him to po dunk down the trail he will happily do that. If you need to outrun a bear you won’t be the last one off the mountain. Our kids ride him with no problems. He is a powerhouse, when this horse collects and lopes up under himself you know why they call it horsepower.
